Pete Wentz’s Clandestine Industries Show

just got back from pete wentz’s fashion show, and i’m not gonna lie — i didn’t really fit in with that crowd. the only reason they let me in the door was because i said my name and because i was wearing all black. if i hadn’t done either one of those two things, i would have found myself in a pile of slush on 37th st…NOT in front of whole foods (which would have been fine because i need raspberries).

one of my biggest issues was the bar. at alexa chung’s presentation, people were handing out gin and tonics, wine, champagne and lots of other tasty bevs. but here, the bar was that red lighted mousehole the stairway, which was meant to serve about two people. i didn’t want to relinquish my seat to go get a drink so i just went without one. it didn’t help when the girls sitting next to me came back with swirly blue cocktails.

these are blurry. i’m not a photographer, and the iphone clearly wasn’t meant for people in motion.

this was my row. i think there was one other guy who was a writer. he looked like one more than i did, though. he had a notepad and everything. i just tried to commit shit to memory. i guess we’ll have to see which one of us is the better writer tomorrow.

but by FAR the best part of the night was at the very end, when two models rolled out pete wentz for the victory lap like he was hannibal lector. he had a facemask on and everything. i think he took a pretty big chance by hoping anthony hopkins wouldn’t be there.

Observations:

the time you’re told to show up at a fashion show is not the time you have to be there. in fact, you can be there at the time you’re told it will end.

do not eat salt and vinegar chips if you don’t have water.

non-models need to wear bras.

shakira’s “she wolf” is surprisingly popular with the emo and wrist tattooed groups.
